We took a quick three-day trip to Moab, Utah over the weekend. It is only a six hour drive from Denver and we really needed a get away. We were also able to bring our dog, Eevee, with us which was a huge plus!
We left Saturday night after work and booked a hotel in Glenwood Springs. We got there around 8:30 PM and got a late dinner at Doc Holiday's and turned in for the night.
We got up early Sunday morning and did a short rafting trip on the Shoshone Rapids while Eevee stayed in the hotel. We then went back and checked out of our hotel and got to Moab around 3:00 PM just in time to go to the grocery store and check into our RV that we had rented through Airbnb. By then, it was cool enough out to drive and hike around Arches National Park. We brought Eevee with us and she was able to do some of the hikes. I definitely recommend looking up the dog-friendly hikes at Arches before going!

Monday was our only full day in Moab so we rented a 4x4 and drove it around for the full day. When it was starting to heat up, we headed up higher in elevation to Lake Oowah and took a break for lunch from the cooler and hiked around for about an hour. After a little more driving around and off-roading, we needed another break from the heat so we headed over to Mill Creek to cool down in the swimming hole near the water fall. After that we headed back to the sand dunes for the sunset.

Tuesday was more of a short day, I booked a one hour boat trip on the Colorado, but unfortunately it got cancelled due to lack of people signed up, so we went to breakfast and shopped around on Main Street before heading back towards Denver instead. On the drive back we did stop in Palisade for some peaches, cherries and wine and a roadside stand. Since we had Eevee with us and most places are closed anyway, we just had lunch in a park from the leftover sandwich materials in our cooler. It was a cheaper and healthier option and I definitely recommend investing in a Yeti cooler for road trips! Even after driving around the dessert, we still had ice left in the cooler when we got home.
Of course we always wish that we had more time, but with the three days we had, we were pretty happy with this trip and I would definitely recommend it! I've lived in Colorado for four years and it still feels like there are so many drivable places that I haven't seen yet. This summer is going to be all about exploring and discovering new things.
